Maxwell outlines five key principles and practices in “Everyone Communicates, Few Connect” which will alter the way you lead. Your ability to create change or results in any sphere of life whether in the business world, the church or even your family is directly tied to the ability to use the teachings of this book.

The Radical Disciple
by John Stott

To live a life as a radical disciple of Jesus Christ – we must be open to allowing God to see the agenda of our lives. This means accepting that God is the Lord of all of life. John Stott explores eight aspects of Christian discipleship which deserve to be taken seriously. ‘The Radical Disciple’ is an illustration of a life well served – including the last sermon Stott ever preached. It contains wisdom from a lifetime of ministry and is an encouragement, to all of those willing to surrender all, in order to live the life of a Radical Disciple.

ONLINE CHURCH BOOKSTORE OPPORTUNITY

Once upon a time, the most effective means of raising funds for community care was a simple sausage sizzle or cake stall out the back of the church building.

Nowadays however, Australian churches are financing their church ministry in a whole new way. And it’s thanks largely to the internet-based Our Church Bookstore (OCB)!

Not sure how an online bookstore has anything to do with fundraising? Managing Director James Tillman explains: “Our Church Bookstore is more than just another Christian bookstore. We provide churches with their own personalised store online, do all the back-end work, and send a percentage of sales directly back to the church. Instead of buying their books, Bibles, music or gifts elsewhere, church members can now support their church by purchasing from their own bookstore!”

With just a little bit of help from Our Church Bookstore, over 50 ACC churches are now finding it easier to finance missions, church plants and other community care projects around Australia.

Robyn Patterson from Townsville Sun City Church is one OCB customer who will never be manning that barbeque again.

“Three years ago we became part of the Our Church Bookstore network. It’s a tool that has proved very beneficial in our church,” she happily says.
